Planners approve home business

Pea Ridge Planning Commission members approved three home occupation requests and a lot split at their regular meeting Tuesday, May 2. They also approved a lot split that was not on the agenda.

Home occupation requests were approved from Jose Vargas, Amanda Burgess, Carol Romine and Josh Romine.

Vargas, 1000 Richards St., said he mows lawns. Vargas has applied for a city business license. He told planners he owns his home.

Burgess, 1407 Vineyard, said her business is Easy Outfitters and she plans to store inventory for the retail business at her home. She said she owns her home and that she sells online and at farmers' markets and will not have a sign at the house.

Josh Romine, representing both himself and his mother, said the two businesses would be located at 3200 Hayden Road on a piece of property that is about 10 acres. They are Northwest Arkansas Romine Construction LLC and Romine Equipment Business Services. Romine said he has applied for a business license.

A lot split for 19.32 acres on Ryan Road was requested by Memphis Snyder and approved. Snyder said he and his wife plan to build on eight acres, his son will build on 5.7 acres and his mother wants to build on the middle five acres. The property, according to building official Tony Townsend, is in the county. Townsend said all building permits will go through the county.

The property is accessed through a private driveway easement off Ryan Road, Snyder told planners. Planner Jerry Burton reminded Snyder to be sure there is an understanding about road maintenance.

Realtor Mike Adams, with Lindsey and Associates, appeared before the Planning Commission requesting a lot split for "a sliver of land on the east side of Townsend Way" that butts up against Sonic. Adams said the land is a little over an acre and that some of the land is not usable as a lot because it's too narrow and has numerous utilities on it. He said the property owner, Equity Bank, wants to sell two lots off the property.

The Planning Commission adjourned at 7:28 p.m.
