Water color class offered

Hello fellow Pea Ridge family.

I truly hope everyone is safe and sound after this last weekend. It's hard to believe summer is right around the corner. The children have only nine more days of school left.

Here at the library, we are excited. The month of May is very full. We have our normal Book Clubs, Lego Club, Adult Coloring and of course our weekly story hour on Wednesdays. There will be a water color art class at 4 p.m. May 12 taught by Noelle Webb.

We have changed our chess/checkers club to table toppers. We have a small assortment of games and are in the process of asking for donations for more. So along with the chess and checkers games we will have other fun items to play when you come in.

Big news -- the Friends of the Pea Ridge Community Library is having a car wash from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 13. We will have volunteers here washing cars for donations. All of the proceeds will go to the Summer Reading Program. Our Summer Reading program is going to be amazing. We are very passionate about this program. Did you know that on average a child loses two months of knowledge over the summer? All that hard work our precious children and their amazing teachers put in and so much can be lost. That is why we have put so much work and planning into our summer reading program. We are excited and need your help to make it a success. From stopping by to volunteer or just coming to get your car wash, we would love to see you!

• Lego Club -- 1:30-3 p.m. May 1 & 22 for home educated; 3:30-5 p.m. for public school students

• Table Toppers -- 3:45 p.m. May 4 & 25

• Story Hour -- 10:30 a.m. every Wednesday

• Adult Coloring -- 4 p.m. every Tuesday

• High School Book Club -- 3:45 p.m. May 3

• Adult Book Club -- 6 p.m. May 11

• Sixth-grade Book Club -- 3:45 p.m. May 15

• Seventh- and eighth-grade Book Club -- 3:45 p.m. May 17
