Urban Goat Tending Workshop

Greedy Goats of Northwest Arkansas will hold a workshop on urban goat-tending, Saturday July 1, at the Shiloh Museum of Ozark History.

Session One, from 9 to 10:30 a.m., will focus on the basics of small-scale goat raising, including breeds, anatomy, goat psychology, diet, fencing, housing and city ordinances.

Session Two, from noon to 1:30 p.m., will focus on nutrition, health, hygiene, breeding and milking.

Both sessions will be led by Greedy Goats owners Connie Rieper-Estes and Jason Estes. Cost is $10 per session. Space is limited; preregistration by June 23 is encouraged. To register or for information, call the Shiloh Museum, 750-8165.

Meet the Greedy Goats

Greedy Goats of Northwest Arkansas will be at the Shiloh Museum of Ozark History during a program for families from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, July 1. Visitors will have the opportunity to meet the goats and their owners, Connie Rieper-Estes and Jason Estes, and find out more about Greedy Goats of Northwest Arkansas, a vegetation management business that uses goats to clear away unwanted plants such as poison ivy, bush honeysuckle, privet and kudzu.

Sign Painting

Fayetteville artist and sign painter Olivia Trimble will present, "A Retrospective on Sign Painting in the Ozarks," at noon Wednesday, July 19, in the Shiloh Museum of Ozark History. Trimble is a second generation sign painter and northwest Arkansas native. Her passion revolves around "improving the urban landscape through public art, effective and evocative signage, and strengthening the narrative within communities." Her work includes large public art pieces such as the 400-square-foot "Uptown Quilt" mural in Fayetteville, the eight-foot-square "Oddfellows Quilt" painting in Springdale, and most recently, a two-story sign on the Experience Fayetteville building on the Fayetteville Square.

Storytellers

The Tellers of Tales storytelling group will meet at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 1, in the Shiloh Museum of Ozark History. All tellers and listeners are invited.

LifeWriters

LifeWriters, a group for people interested in writing the stories of their own lives or those of family and friends, will meet at 10 a.m. Monday, July 3, and Monday, July 17, in the Shiloh Museum of Ozark History. For information, call June Jefferson at 790-2588 or visit shilohmuseum.org.

Pottery Demonstration

Teresa Griffith, owner of Griffith Pottery Works, will demonstrate her craft from 10-11 a.m. Saturday, July 15, in the Shiloh Museum of Ozark History. The program is part of the museum's Third Saturday series for families.

Sacred Harp Singers

The Northwest Arkansas Sacred Harp Singers will meet at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, July 9, in the Shiloh Museum of Ozark History.

Civil War Roundtable

The Northwest Arkansas Civil War Roundtable will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 27, in the Shiloh Museum of Ozark History.

Wireless Society

The Ozark Wireless Society will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 29, in the Shiloh Museum of Ozark History.
