Library plans for summer activities

Hello, Pea Ridge family.

I hope you all enjoyed the past few weeks of our wonderful volunteers writing the article. We are blessed to have such a great group of youth volunteers helping us and we are blown away by the amount of respect and courtesy they have for my staff and me, as well as our patrons.

Library hours

The Summer Reading kickoff party was a huge success! The rain didn't even stop us. So many of your community members volunteered and came to join in the fun. The summer reading program participation has increased by 300 percent compared to last year.

The top readers for each grade level are:

Kindergarten -- Olivia Young, 4 hours, 30 minutes

First grade -- Emlyn McInturff, 9 hours, 45 minutes

Second grade -- Presley Filler, 14 hours

Third grade -- Kairi McInturff, 10 hours, 30 minutes

Fourth grade -- Jacklyn Hale, 14 hours, 32 minutes

Fifth grade -- Kenny Hambrick, 35 hours, 30 minutes

Sixth grade -- Emalee Hale, 20 hours, 55 minutes

Seventh grade -- David Vehon, 30 hours, 30 minutes

Eighth grade -- Delaney Busby, 22 hours

There is a full calendar of events planned for the month of July. There is, of course, the weekly Wednesday story and craft hours at 10:30 a.m. and adult coloring at 4 p.m. every Tuesday. There are the regular Book clubs, Lego Club and Table Toppers. New items this month are rock painting for children, teens and adults, teen drawing class, summer readers midway picnic and read in, teen pottery, dream catchers for all ages, Saturday Scientist, Origami, window clings, and a teen T-shirt tote class.

Check the Library's Facebook page or stop by for an updated detailed calendar.
