Movies in the Park slated

Movies in the Park will be sponsored by the Pea Ridge Park Commission again this summer. Movies will begin about 8:30 p.m. but may be slightly delayed depending on amount of sunlight remaining, according to chairman Joseph Carleson.

8:30 p.m. Saturday, June 24 -- "Moana"

8:30 p.m. Saturday, July 8 -- "Captain America: Civil War"

8:30 p.m. Saturday, July 22 -- "Finding Dory"

8:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 5 -- "Sing"

Pea Ridge pageants & parade

The Miss Pea Ridge pageants will begin at 7 p.m. Friday, July 7, in the Pea Ridge Middle School cafeteria. Tickets are $5 for adults and free admission for students. Tickets purchased Friday night are good for Saturday.

Pageants Friday will be the Pre-Teen Miss Pea Ridge, Teen Miss Pea Ridge, Jr. Miss Pea Ridge and Miss Pea Ridge. Boxes for Most Beautiful Baby will be displayed Friday through 11 a.m Saturday.

Doors open at 9 a.m. Saturday, July 8, for the pageants which will begin with the Mr. and Miss Teeny Tot, then the Mr. and Miss Tiny Tot, Little Miss Pea Ridge and Princess Pea Ridge with Most Beautiful Baby winners announced after pageants.

Parade line up is at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, July 8, at Equity Bank. The parade begins at 5:30 p.m.

Freedom Fest

Freedom Fest will begin at 6 p.m. Sunday, June 25, on the grounds of the First Assembly of God grounds on Weston Street. Music will be provided. The Chimes will pay at 5:40 p.m. A Christian motorcycle group will present the flags, National Anthem and pledge of allegiance. Hot dogs and chicken sandwiches will be provided free of charge. People are encouraged to bring chairs or blankets.

Prizes will given throughout the event.

Police will set up booth for donations for a raffle to raise money for drug dog.

Fourth of July Parade set

SELIGMAN, Mo. -- The second annual Seligman Fourth of July Parade will start at 5 p.m. July 4. The parade is sponsored by Zeta Phi.

Lineup is to start at 4:30 pm. near Dollar General. Prizes, sponsored by the Seligman Parks Dept., are for most patriotic prizes. First place receied $100, second prize gets $50 and third prize gets $25. Hotdogs will be served after the parade by the Chamber of Commerce. Fireworks begin at dark.
