Five arrested in school vandalism

Five teens were arrested in connection with the May 23 vandalism of Pea Ridge Intermediate School, according to a police news release.

The damage spread through several classrooms and halls and included graffiti of "lewd drawings, vulgar words and racial comments," as well as damage to school and school employees' property.

Police made the arrests May 24 and anticipate more arrests as the investigation continues.

Four people, all 15 years old, were arrested in connection with commercial burglary, breaking and entering, and criminal mischief, all felonies. Andrew Keefer, 18, of 1022 Nemett Dr., Pea Ridge was arrested in connection with the same crimes and also contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile, a misdemeanor.

"The district is grateful for the work of the Pea Ridge Police Department to identify those involved. We will be working with those individuals to resolve the issue," Keith Martin, assistant superintendent, said.
