Harding University

Three Pea Ridge students were among the more than 1,300 students who were on the Harding University dean's list for grades achieved during the spring 2017 semester. They were:

• Heather Couch, elementary education major;

• Courtney Mitchell, elementary education major; and

• Emma Swadley, elementary education major.

Ramsey earns degree at UAMS

LITTLE ROCK -- The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) awarded certificates and degrees May 20 to 942 graduates of its five colleges and graduate school during its commencement ceremony at Verizon Arena in North Little Rock.

Degrees were presented to 163 in the College of Medicine; 265 in the College of Nursing; 123 in the College of Pharmacy; 44 in the Fay W. Boozman College of Public Health; 62 in the Graduate School; and 285 in the academic programs that make up the College of Health Professions.

A Pea Ridge student -- Haley Ramsey -- was among those who received a doctorate of pharmacy degree at the UAMS College of Pharmacy.

UAMS is the state's only health sciences university, with colleges of Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Health Professions and Public Health; a graduate school; a hospital; a northwest Arkansas regional campus; a statewide network of regional centers; and seven institutes: the Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute, the Jackson T. Stephens Spine & Neurosciences Institute, the Myeloma Institute, the Harvey & Bernice Jones Eye Institute, the Psychiatric Research Institute, the Donald W. Reynolds Institute on Aging and the Translational Research Institute. It is the only adult Level 1 trauma center in the state. Arkansas Tech University

RUSSELLVILLE -- Arkansas Tech University has announced its Dean's List for undergraduate students on the Russellville campus for the spring 2017 semester.

A student must achieve a 3.5 grade point average or higher and complete at least 12 hours of college-level coursework to be named to the Dean's List.

A total of 1,815 Arkansas Tech students achieved that distinction during spring 2017, an 8.7 percent increase over spring 2016. Included in the spring 2017 Dean's List are 707 students who achieved a 4.0 grade point average, which is an 8.8 percent increase over spring 2016.
