Hello fellow Pea Ridge family! I hope you were able to get out and enjoy the fantastic weather we had at the beginning of last week. Being from Washington state where they have several feet of snow, I fall in love with Arkansas more and more every winter. Speaking of several feet, here at the library our to-do list is getting shorter and shorter every day.

Our new cataloging and database system is doing a superb job and we have received much positive feedback from our community. We had to hold off entering new books in our system for several weeks and there were a lot of donations in that short timeframe. We are finally almost all caught up.

The next time you stop by, take a look at our new "New to us" bookshelf located by our new books stand and peruse some of the wonderful books people in the community have graciously donated to us for your enjoyment. While you're in, check out the New Year's resolutions display of healthy food and exercise books that our amazing volunteer Debi Hale created. The stunning ladies from Hands On Chiropractic filled in one of our other displays with free calendars and informative handouts.

Today we have a sensational reading therapy dog coming to story hour that the kids loved the last time they visited, and next week the fire chief is coming. As always, don't forget that story hour is every Wednesday starting at 10:30 a.m.

Another upcoming event is our highly anticipated Dave Ramsey Financial Peace University class starting on Jan. 24. It will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. and is taught by volunteer teacher, Jessica Lancaster. If you have taken this class, and are able, please think about sponsoring another family to have the same life-changing experience. The only cost for this nine-week class is for the supplies. Don't forget, we have a gorgeous community room for you to rent. It is only $50 a day with a $100 deposit. There is no charge for a civic group to meet during library hours.
