Guary Don Jones

Guary Don Jones, 75, of Bentonville died Dec. 3 at Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonville. He was born Dec. 6, 1941, in Pea Ridge to Chauncey Gaines Jones and Vivian Doris Carr Jones.

He grew up in the Twelve Corners community and graduated Pea Ridge High School in 1959. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and a U.S. Army National Guard veteran. He was a heavy equipment operator for many years and lived in the area all his life. He was known by many and never met a stranger.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors are two brothers, Jimmy Jones of Centerton and Harold Jones and wife Evelyn of Hiwasse; nephews, Danny and Jo Jones, Jeff and Kristen Jones, Kyle and Joanna Jones; nieces, Carrie and Jason Matkowski, Debbie and Emmitt Rhodes, Vicky and J.R. Robertson; long time friend and companion, Nancy Henderson; and many cousins.

A memorial service is set for 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 8, at Sisco Funeral Home Chapel in Pea Ridge.

Burial will be in Pea Ridge Cemetery.

Vida Mildred Marler

Vida Mildred Marler, 102, of Rogers, Ark., died Sunday, Dec. 3, 2017, in her residence. She was born Sept. 11, 1915, in Lowell, Ark., to Martha Jane Jones and William Lephley Beard.

She was a lifetime resident of northwest Arkansas and was employed with Daisy Manufacturing for 28 years. She was a longtime member of Temple Baptist in Rogers. She enjoyed bowling, gardening and was an active member of Liberty Bell Home Extension Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Hershel Marler; and six sisters.

Survivors are her son, Jerry Marler and his wife Mary Lou, of Rogers; three brothers, Harold Beard of Pea Ridge, Ark., Clint Beard and his wife Leota, of Lowell, Ark., and Layne Beard and his wife Connie, of Pea Ridge; two grandchildren, Greg Patterson and his wife Sarah of Maine and Donna Valentine and her husband Kevin of Conway, Ark.; and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 5-7 p.m. at Temple Baptist Church in Rogers.

A celebration of Vida's life will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 6, in Temple Baptist Church in Rogers with pastors Ron Fields and Wade Allen officiating.

Interment will follow at Spring Creek Cemetery, Springdale, Ark.

Guile Curtis Nestle

Guile Curtis Nestle, 80, of Pea Ridge, Ark., died Dec. 2, 2017, at Northwest Medical Center in Springdale. He was born Aug. 14, 1937, in Little Falls, N.Y., to Curtis James Nestle and Wava Gertrude Lewis Nestle.

He worked as a school custodian in Apple Valley California School District. He married Elizabeth Frances Bilyou March 9, 1996, and moved to Pea Ridge in 2004 to make there home. He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving on the USS Saratoga in Mayport, Fla.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Elizabeth Nestle; a brother and sister-in-law, Barry and Denise Nestle; a sister, Arsene Hall; and a brother-in-law, Larry Hoyt.

Survivors are a daughter, Theresa Koelewyn (David) of Hanford, Calif.; two sisters, Elza Smith (George) of Gardiner, N.Y., Sheila Hoyt of Augusta, N.Y., in-laws, Howard and Waneta Bilyou of Pea Ridge, Birdie and William Demming of Liberty, N.Y., Junior and Margaret McIntosh of Liberty; nephews, Barry Nestle (Tracey) of Apple Valley, Calif., Howard Bilyou (Amber) of Bentonville, Ark.; niece, Tanya Woods (Josh) of Pea Ridge; grandchildren, Tyler Koelewyn, Conner and Carly Nestle; and several nieces and nephews.

No services are planned at this time.

Cremation arrangments were by Sisco Funeral Home in Pea Ridge.

Mary Maxine Sawyer

Mary Maxine Sawyer, 79, a longtime resident of Gravette, Ark., died Nov. 29, 2017, in Springdale, Ark. She was born Feb. 6, 1938, in Witter, Ark., to Floyd C. Burnett and Ethel Smith Burnett.

She worked at Tyson Foods Chicken Quick in Rogers for more than 10 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Carl "Buzz" Sawyer; her son, Steve Sawyer; one sister; and four brothers.

Survivors are three sons, Ronnie Sawyer (Brenda) of Summersville, S.C., Larry Sawyer of Gravette, Ark., and Randy Sawyer (Amelia) of Pea Ridge, Ark.; one daughter, Carla Kara (Jerry) of Gravette, Ark.; 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one sister, Sue Peters of Gravette; and her adopted family, Rick and Marcella Sonneberg and Ken Austin families.

Visitation was 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 3, in the Bella Vista Funeral Home Chapel.

Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 4, in the Bella Vista Funeral Home Chapel, 2258 Forest Hills Blvd., Bella Vista, Ark.
