Many activities planned at library

Hello, Pea Ridge friends,

What a fantastic summer. I hope this article finds you well into a good routine for the school year. We had the end of the summer reading program on Aug. 4. Much fun was had by all celebrating the hard work the youth put forth. They all read more than 1,481 hours. For every five hours of reading, students' names were put into a drawing. With help from a grant, library officials applied for from Walmart facility 6008, kindles, gift cards and Malco movie cards were given away as prizes. Winners were Soren White, Emlyn McInturff, Lana Bounds, Carter Emberson, Isabella Henson, Maebre Peal, Lincoln Staten and Khalyn Kastner.

The High School book club will meet at 4 p.m. Aug. 31.

As you can see, we are not slowing down!

Next time you come in, please take a look at our growing education section. This section will be filled with wonderful resources for our home school community or any family wanting to add education to their home. It's quite small now but we will grow it with time. If you have any resources to donate, please don't hesitate to drop them off at the library. We would be thankful for your donation.

I want to end with a big thank you to Senator Cecile Bledsoe for coming to speak to the young girls about Leadership and what it looks like to be a leader of character. She did a fantastic job and we had a great turn out!
