GARFIELD -- A vacancy on the City Council will be declared with the midnight Aug. 20 resignation of alderman Susie Morrison. Mayor Gary Blackburn said all persons interested in filling the vacancy should contact him at City Hall or by telephone.
Interested parties must be registered voters and live in Ward 1 inside the Garfield city limits.
City attorney Michael Bearden said the vacancy must be filled at the next council meeting which is set for 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 12.
