Brenda Bride

Brenda Bride, 51, of Rogers, died Aug. 1, 2017, in Rogers. She was born Dec. 1, 1965, in Kirksville, Mo., to Clifford and Arleta Garrett Miller.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earnest Lyle Montgomery in 1992; and her grandparents.

Survivors include by husband Roger Bride of the home; five children and their spouses and children, Kimberly Ketcher of Pea Ridge, Ryan Montgomery of Anderson, Mo., Lacey Montgomery of Rogers, Matthew Montgomery of Pineville, Mo., and Kyle Montgomery of Bella Vista; 13 grandchildren; a brother; two sisters; and nieces, nephews and extended family.

Visitation is set for 5-7 p.m. Monday in Benton County Funeral Home, 306 N. 4th St., Rogers.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2017, at Benton County Funeral Home, Rogers.

Interment will follow in the Pace Cemetery, Garfield.

Cynthia Jane Browning

Cynthia Jane Browning, 75, of Pea Ridge, Ark., died Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2017, at Circle of Life Legacy Village in Bentonville, Ark. She was born Aug. 7, 1941, in San Mateo, Calif., to William Howard Thomas and Minnie Cockran Thomas.

She graduated from Pea Ridge High School in 1959 and married Gordon Leon Browning July 12, 1959, in Cassville, Mo.

She was the local Avon representative in the area for many years, worked at Harp's Pharmacy in Pea Ridge, was devoted to her husband Gordon's Air Force career. She enjoyed gardening, shopping with friends, reading and loved her cats. She loved the city of Pea Ridge and was a devoted fan of the Arkansas Razorback basketball team.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon Browning; her parents; and one brother, Howard Thomas Jr.

Survivors are one son, Darren Browning and wife Teresa of Plano, Texas; two grandsons, Greg Browning and Sean Browning of Plano, Texas; one brother, Lyndol Thomas and wife Shirley of Washburn, Mo.; many nieces, nephews, and friends in the community.

A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 5, at The Ridge Church in Pea Ridge with Pastor Bonnie Austin officiating.

Cremation arrangements were by Sisco Funeral Home of Pea Ridge.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Circle of Life Hospice, 1201 NE Parkway, Bentonville, AR 72712.

Joy D. Fithian

Joy D. Fithian, 89, of Rogers, Ark., died Aug. 1, 2017, in Rogers. She was born Aug. 2, 1927, in Treece, Kan., to Herbert and Thelma Chandler Glenn.

She was a homemaker, and formerly sold real estate and worked in the school cafeteria. She and Robert enjoyed square dancing, camping and traveling in their motor home. She was the matriarch of a very large and loving family. She brought joy and laughter to all who knew her. Her smile and wit and her love and kindness for others will be missed by everyone.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Carol Fithian.

Survivors are her husband of 72 years, Robert Fithian; six children, Randy Fithian and wife Christine, Jo Sue Cervi and husband John, all of Rogers, Nancy White and husband Larry of Pea Ridge, Ark., Jean Tarbet and husband Keven of Noel, Mo., Linda Nicholas and husband Mike and Jim Fithian, all of Rogers; her sister, Gale Cuneo of Rogers; 22 grandchildren; 65 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation was 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Benton County Funeral Home, 306 N. 4th, Rogers.

Funeral services were 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 7, 2017, at the Hunts Chapel.

Interment will follow in the Pinnacle Memorial Gardens in Rogers..

Brent Cameron Hansen

Brent Cameron Hansen, 47, of Pea Ridge died Aug. 2 in his home. He was born Jan. 18, 1970, in Mountain Home, Ark., to Billy C. Hansen and Sue Swearingen.

He married Stacey Lynn Sunderman Aug. 27, 2005, and moved to Pea Ridge to make his home the same year. He worked at the Wal-Mart Return Center in Bentonville for 15 years. He loved fishing, hunting, woodworking, roadtrips and movies. Brent loved to cook and spend time with his family.

Survivors are his wife Stacey of the home; his father, Billy Hansen of Pea Ridge; his mother, Sue Day and husband Richard of Mountain Home; two sons, Benjamin Hansen of Little Rock and Caleb Hansen of Bryant; three step-children, Cody Sunderman and wife Cayla of Springfield, Mo., Sara Lusk of Conway and Nikki Lusk of Pea Ridge; a brother, Brian Hansen and wife Joyce of Springfield, Mo.; in-laws, Dave Sunderman of Bentonville and Sandi Weatherford of Washburn, Mo.; and brother-in-law, Stan Sunderman and wife, Lynnette of Bentonville.

Memorial service is set for 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 12, at Sisco Funeral Home Chapel in Pea Ridge with Brother Kent Smith officiating.

Clarence Edward McKenzie

Clarence Edward McKenzie, 82, of Garfield, Ark., died in his home on Aug. 2, 2017, at 11:05 and was pronounced deceased on Aug. 3, 2017. He was born July 15, 1935, to Clifford and Edith (Weaver) McKenzie.

At the age of 13, he worked as a crane oiler in Nebraska, and then moved on at 15 to become a foreman of pouring concrete at an airport. At the age of 17, he came to Oklahoma for a short break and he met the love of his life, married her after one week of dating and took his new bride back with him to Nebraska. From there they moved to Washington for a brief period where he picked grapes and dug potatoes, disliked the weather and moved to sunny California first living in Arbuckle and then on to College City where he worked year round farming and working on equipment. After his job farming he moved to the mountains in Sonora, Calif., working with a logging company. Finally in 1962, he moved to Arkansas where he began his own company AMCO Inc. doing all kinds of dirt work until he retired.

While living in Gateway, Ark., he became a very well-known and respected member of the community. He became the driving force behind many community projects. In 1984, he, along with Bill Schnitzer, began the Volunteer Ambulance Service which is still in effect today. He and Bill drove several miles up into Missouri to get an ambulance for the community and was a driver for 15 years. He played a key role in bringing city water to the small town of Gateway and was on the board, as well as, laid most of the water lines for the people of Gateway. He was also an avid member of the Neighborhood Watch program.

He was also known as Pa and remained active until his last days. He was an avid gardener growing the best vegetables and always sharing with his friends and family. He also loved to fish, going to yard sales and flea markets, but most of all he loved helping and being with people. He loved just sitting for hours on end with family, friends, or even a stranger and chatting for hours. He always had the best advice and touched the lives of everyone he encountered. He was a wonderful, kind, compassionate man who will be truly missed by all.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brothers, Clyde of Nebraska and Clint and Guy, both of Pea Ridge.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Marzene Loretta McKenzie (Duty); two sons, Lonnie Edward McKenzie of Gateway and Christopher Leon McKenzie of Gateway; a daughter-in-law, the wife of Chris, Cindy Coylene McKenzie; four grandchildren, Adam McKenzie of Pea Ridge, Angie Warford of Gateway, Amanda Cleghorn of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Ty Curbow of Branson, Mo.; and seven great-grandchildren, Jeremiah, Josh, Bryrr, Slade, Jordan, Rylee and Kinslee.

Visitation was from 6-8 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.

Service was 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 5, at Sisco Funeral Home Chapel in Pea Ridge.

Burial was at Walnut Hill Cemetery in Garfield.

DeLois (Lois) M. Philpott

DeLois (Lois) M. Philpott, 81, died Friday, Aug. 4, 2017. Lois was born Sept. 11, 1935, in Erbie, Ark., to Toy and Ruth Burdine.

They lived there until 1947 when they moved to Cave Springs, Ark. Lois attended school at Villines Chapel in Jasper, then Center Corner in Lowell and Rogers High School. Lois worked at Munsingwear for 14 years from 1935-1967 when it closed, then went to work at Bear Brands for 10 years from 1967-1977 when it closed. She then went to work at CTS in Bentonville and worked there for 20 years from 1977-1997 at which time they also closed their doors. After this she decided it was time to retire.

She married Shirley Philpott on April 3, 1954, at the First Baptist Church in Bentonville, Ark. Shirley and Lois lives on the farm in Cave Springs from 1957--1982. Shirley passed away in 1982 and in 1982 Lois moved to Bentonville. Lois joined the Eastern Star in 1957 and received her 50-year pin in 2007. Lois and Shirley had a good life together, in 1979 for their 25th anniversary they traveled to Hawaii. They also had many good trips to Florida and loved the beach and fishing trips. Lois loved her home, but working in the garden especially with her flowers was her favorite hobby. Lois was saved in 1981 and was baptized on April 1, 2012, at Lake View Baptist Church where she was a member.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 27 years, Shirley Philpott; and sisters, Betty Evans and Mary Vanderpool.

Survivors include three nieces Karen Evans of Seligman, Mo., Carol Vanderpool of Bentonville, Ark., and Paula Olden of Lowell, Ark.; one nephew, Steve Vanderpool of Lowell, Ark.; great nieces, Renee Aitken of Tucson, Ariz., Amanda Stamper of Pea Ridge, Ark., Sarah Olden and Samantha Olden, both of Lowell, Ark.; great-great nephews, Brian Aitken and Logan Aitken of Tucson, Ariz., and Jordan Muller of Pea Ridge, Ark.; and one great-great niece, Halie Muller of Pea Ridge, Ark.

Visitation and services will be held beginning at 12 p.m. Monday Aug. 7, at Lakeview Baptist Church, Cave Springs, Ark.

Interment was in Benton County Memorial Park in Rogers, Ark..
