Crashes back up traffic on Ark. 72

From Staff Reports

Two motor-vehicle collisions Tuesday, April 4, backed up traffic for hours on Arkansas Highway 72 between Pea Ridge and Bentonville.

Arkansas State Police investigated both accidents.

The first two-vehicle accident was reported at 3:15 p.m. and involved a female from Garfield who was eastbound on State 72, near Plentywood Road, approaching a curve near Jac's Ranch. According to the report, the driver of that vehicle apparently crossed the center line striking an Arco utility pickup truck pulling an empty flatbed trailer that was being driven west on State 72. As a result of the collision, the car rotated counter clockwise and came to rest blocking the entire westbound traffic lane.

There was no other information available from the Arkansas State Police on the second accident that was reported three minutes later.
