Greetings Pea Ridge Friends!

We had our first official book club discussions this past week. Our first gathering was the adult club meeting. Although not many of us enjoyed the book, especially the ending, we had a wonderful discussion.

Next was high school group. Now being as my high school years are decades away and having just started, being the parent of two freshman girls (that are of a different species) I was extremely happy Mrs. Holly Dayberry lead this one, and will be grateful also in the future.

The next day was sixth grade and they were so much fun! We had a great discussion. I am a little anxious about their sweet hearts as they read this next book, "The Boy in the Striped Pajamas."

Seventh- and eighth-grade were next. These two classes are full of amazing athletes which put a bit of a damper on our Thursday meeting time, just because of game schedules. I heard lots of kids who wanted to come but had to travel for football, cheer and volleyball. That's alright, one of the months are surely to work out. The girls in the group had fun with the light read and are excited to read one of Jenny B. Jones books next.

I want to thank Mrs. Dayberry, Misty Harris and Tracy Hager for getting the word out and making announcements at school for me. There is still plenty of time for any age to swing by and pick up one of the books and join us at the beginning of next month.

Last month I had the pleasure to nominate Pea Ridge for volunteer community of the year. As I was putting all the Granny's Quilts information together, it dawned on me how much more I could include next year. With that said, if your organization has people who volunteer, for example, the dance coming up this Friday to benefit sweet Destiny, all the sports teams, and Lunch Buddies, etc., I would love for you to bring me hours logged, a brief description and a picture or two if you have it. I will collect them all for the next year's nomination packet.

Have a fantastic week, hope to see you in the library soon!
