With eight games down and two to go, the Junior Blackhawks are looking to add to string of highly successful junior high football seasons over the past few years.

The junior Blackhawks took down Berryville 42-16, with coach Cody Alexander lauding the play of both the offensive and defensive lines.

"I felt the difference in the game was that our offensive and defensive lines played hard all night. Phillip Brown and Mazon Harris dominated the game from their defensive end positions, not letting Berryville's fast running backs get outside, and that was huge," Alexander said.

"I was very happy with the way our three eighth-graders (Samuel Tillman, Anthony Bleything and Colby Slaughter) played on the offensive line. They played solid all night long," Alexander added.

Luis Reyes had another great game running the ball, scoring twice on runs of 10 and 50. Reyes also added a 2-point conversion run as well.

Not to be outdone, Hunter Rains also score a pair of touchdowns, one coming from 50 yards out and one from the 14. Tate Busey and Samuel Beard rounded out the scoring with touchdown runs of 60 and 17, respectively. Adam Trammel picked up 2 points on a conversion following touchdown run.

The junior Blackhawks will attempt to go 9-0 Thursday when they play their final home game, hosting the Huntsville Eagles. Game time is 7 p.m. with the seventh-grade game preceding the junior high game, beginning at 5:30 p.m.
