Community room is available to reserve

Hi Pea Ridge! I am excited to announce that our Community Room is growing in popularity and openings are filling up fast. If you were needing a place to hold your family or other event, you should come check it out and reserve your date. It's only $50 a day with a $100 refundable deposit. It is available for rent every day of the week. I love hearing that family and friends are spending the holidays together here.

Last Wednesday we used the Community Room for free educational event. Dr. Fox, the director of Sports Medicine, spoke. He was a plethora of information. We learned everything from what we should look for in our young athletes to tons about concussions and how important hydration is. I hope that he can come back again. Mercy will send a doctor every month to educate us so if there is something special you would like to learn, please contact the library and put in your request.

We have some very exciting news. On Nov. 29, we will be going live with our new circulation database system called Atriuum. This system will be much more reliable than the one we are currently using. Our patrons will be able to see what books we have in the library from your home computer or device. They can renew and request books as well. The system will automatically send out reminders when books are due based on the preference of the patron. It is very user friendly and has a wonderfully fun children's page. These are just some of the amazing things Atriuum will bring to us. If you prefer the personal option, we will still be here with bright and smiling faces to help you.

We will have story and craft hour at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 23. The theme will be transportation. If you aren't swamped cooking those delicious Thanksgiving dishes, we would love to see you.

The Library will be closed Nov. 24-26 for the holiday. We will reopen again on Monday, Nov. 28.

I want to welcome Sullivan Joseph Young to our library family. Our librarian Katie Young gave birth to him on the Nov. 10, the exact day she was due. Katie, baby and family are doing well at home but we are counting down the days until she comes back.
