Utility truck wrecked

The driver of a Lost Bridge Water and Sewer company truck was jailed after being involved in a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Lee Town Road and Curtis Avenue on Oct. 24.

Coltin T. Rhuems, 22, Pea Ridge, was booked into the Benton County Jail for careless and prohibited driving and DWI/drugs.

Police were dispatched to a motor-vehicle accident at 2:12 p.m. Monday, Oct. 24, at the south four-way stop (Ark. Hwy. 94/72, Lee Town Road, Curtis Avenue).

William P. Adams, 61, Rogers, told police he was west bound on Lee Town Road and noticed the white 2010 GMC Sierra pickup truck getting close to the rear of his vehicle, then slowing down several times along Lee Town Road. Adams told police that while he was stopped at the stop sign at the intersection waiting to turn, the GMC struck the rear of his vehicle.

Police reported that Rhuems was unbalanced as he walked and his speech was slurred. Police conducted a field sobriety test on Rhuems and administered a portable breath test. Rhuems was employed by Northwest Utilities Company.
