If you have continued to watch the political news, about the only thing we can say about the recent presidential election is, the votes have been counted. If there is any way for the news media to draw us into a pattern of discussing Trump fever, they will keep us entangled in this super event for the next four years. posted: 11/23/2016 5 a.m.

I take my title from the words of a brief hymn we often sing at church. It is usually simply called the Doxology. In our worship services we usually sing it as we dedicate our tithes and offerings to the service of the Lord. To worship is to acknowledge God as creator of the heavens and the earth, to praise and give thanks to the Lord for his grace and mercy and providence, and to appreciate and to anticipate the blessings of eternal life with the Lord.

'Hawks face big hurdle

posted: 11/16/2016 5 a.m.

I figured we would be playing Nashville at some point this season, although I would have rather played them in the state finals instead of the second round. Be that as it may, for Pea Ridge to win the state championship, a feat this team has the potential to accomplish, they will have to play tough teams and they will probably have to face adversity. As Coach Stephen Neal said after the game last week, the team this year will be known as a team that faced adversity and never backed down.
