Sign up for Summer Reading program

We are gearing up for the Summer Reading Program sign-up and the big reveal of our completed multi-purpose room on Monday, June 6. We are excited for the community to see this room.

Hopefully we will have a record number of participants for the Summer Reading Program. Bring the family to the library on June 6 to view the room and get the children signed up. Kindergarten through fifth-grade students are eligible for this program. Complete details are posted on Facebook and the library web site [email protected] or call the library at 479-451-8442.

Several new books will be available for the Summer Reading Program.

Last week was a very busy week. There are lots of people using the computers. We had a computer tech check each of the public use computers, clean them and make sure they were all working properly. I want to remind everyone not to save documents that contain personal information (i.e. Social Security Numbers, bank or credit card information, etc.) on a public use computer. The next person using that computer can easily obtain your information. Please do not install or attempt to install any programs on any public use computer.

The library received many applications for the position of library director. The search has been narrowed to six very qualified applicants and interviews are now being scheduled. Thank you to everyone who submitted applications/resumes.

Free GED Test Prep Classes are being offered by NWACC Adult Education. NWACC Adult Education provides equal access to all programs and activities. Applicants must be 18 years or older to participate. Pick up an information sheet and brochure at the library. Brochure has information on NWACC Adult Education Program Offerings for College Prep Math, English as a Second Language, High School Equivalency (GED Prep) and Career Education/WAGE.

A large number of large print books were donated last week. Included in that donation is a large print children's book. We also received a large collection of World War II books. These are currently being catalogued. We are deeply appreciative to the donors.

Thanks to the Pea Ridge School students who participated in the City Beautification Day on May 20. The library always appreciates your efforts.

See you at the library!
