Letter to the Editor

To the mayor & city recorder at Garfield:

Please add to the May 2016 City Council meeting agenda Dangerous/ Vicious Animal Ordinance.

Yesterday, while visiting with you inside City Hall, the Mayor's dog attacked my dog, without provocation. Both you and Alderman Watkins witnessed the attack. The Mayor's 50 pound dog, had my 10 pound dog's throat, and would have sustained serious injury if I hadn't repeatedly kicked the Mayor's dog with my foot. I am still shaken up over the incident.

Citizens of Garfield deserve to have a safe place to conduct city business and dogs that attack with no provocation do not provide a safe environment. (In fact, I feel that dogs should not be allowed in City Hall.)

I will assume this item will be added to the agenda, as I am well within the deadline.

Please note I am sending this message to your personal email address, as well as the city address, since there is an ongoing problem with you receiving emails at the city email address.

Thank you for all that you do!

Sincerely,

Alderman Katherine Shook
