Womack to be here Wednesday

Staff and patrons made it through Phase I of our construction project. We have had lots of noise and dust but things are moving along nicely. The cement floor has been smoothed out, two new windows installed on the south side of the building, think all the framing is complete, insulation replaced and electrical work underway. Believe the heating and air guys will be working this week. We are very anxious to have this work completed so we can begin to use this room.

The library will host Congressman Steve Womack's Mobile Office Stop from 2-4 p.m. today, Wednesday, March 16. Stop by and visit with Jeff Thacker from the Congressman's office.

A special thanks this week to J.W. Jordan for correcting an issue we were having with one of our computer monitors. It was so kind of him and especially enjoyable that I was able to visit with both J.W. and Nancy.

The tax deadline is approaching. The library does not have any tax booklets or forms. Those things can be downloaded and printed from our computers but please remember before you hit the print button that copies are $.25 each. We also have information on two places that will help with tax preparation for person 60 and older.

Ms. Jacki will be out of town and not able to read at the Story Hour. If you would like to sub for her that day, please call the library at 451-8442. You can choose a book from the library or bring your own. If you want to offer a craft, we have plenty of supplies. Weather and illness have caused some of our families to miss the last couple of Story Hours. Looking forward to having everyone well and back with us.

Civic clubs, school groups -- want to publicize your activities? We would love to have you use one of our display units. It's free and I think you would be surprised how many area residents don't know about Bright Futures or Labels for Education programs at the school; or exactly what the Lion's Club or the Optimist Club do. The library has a collection box for the Labels for Education Program and hope to be a container for donated eye glasses for the Lion's Club soon. Call or come in and speak with us about it.

The library web site is a work in progress, thanks to board member Laura Baker. Visit our site at www.pearidgecommunitylibrary.org. You can also follow us on Facebook.

See you at the library.
