Horse Trail open

Thenorthern loop of the equestrian trail at Pea Ridge National Military Park has been re-opened, according to officials at the park. The trail had been closed due to flooding issues and the removal of cedar trees adjacent to the trail.

Park staff asks that riders report any downed trees or excessively muddy areas to staff at the Visitor Center.

Pea Ridge National Military Park preserves and commemorates the March 1862 Civil War battle that helped Union forces maintain physical and political control of the state of Missouri. Administered by the National Park Service, the 4,300 acre battlefield is located six miles east of Pea Ridge, off of U.S. Highway 62.
