The Lady Blackhawks softball team has begun their season with five wins over the first weekend of softball competition.
The Lady Blackhawks' pitcher, Allie VanHouden, struck out seven Green Forest batters in a contest won 14-1 by Pea Ridge Monday.

Alli VanHouden pitched complete game allowing 1 run on 2 hits striking out 7.
Pea Ridge 17-Harrison 0
In a game at home on Thursday, March 3, the Lady 'Hawks held their opponent, Harrison, scoreless.
Senior Allie VanHouden pitched five innings, allowed one hit, struck out four and walked one player. Sara Whatley was 2-3 3 RBI and Kieara Bryant was 2-2 2 runs scored.
"This weekend was a great weekend for softball," head softball coach Josh Reynolds said. "We were able to move a lot of girls around and get playing time in different positions on the field. The coaches saw a lot of good things coming out of this weekend."
"We have a big week this week. We play Monday at Green Forest, Tuesday at Fayetteville and Thursday at Fort Smith Southside," Reynolds said.
The junior varsity Lady Blackhawks competed in the Prairie Grove Softball Festival Saturday.

Quinley Roses and Leala Sorrell both pitched, allowing 5 hits striking out 2 and 0 walks combined.

Melissa Landis 1-1 with a double and run scored
Dominique Burwell struck out three Berryville hitters while walking three. She scattered four hits.
