Planners OK lot split

Pea Ridge Planning Commission members approved a request for a lot split for land on Patterson Road from William Simpson.

City building official Tony Townsend told the planners that the original lot was 14 acres and was split between Simpson's father and Joe Pitts, then split again in 2002, but apparently not recorded.

"He's wanting this to split for his daughter and future son-in-law," Townsend told planners.

Simpson told planners he will live on the back lot and keep the house on that portion for himself. Because of the number of lot splits involved, it cannot be handled administratively by Townsend, but requires action from the Planning Commission, Townsend told planners.

In other business, planners:

• Approved a home occupation request by by Angela Dauman for 2225 D.J. Duvall Drive for a house cleaning business; and

• Approved the large scale development with a contingency for Patrick Appleton's self-storage on Weston Street with one dissenting vote.
