Two die in crashes over the weekend

A motorcycle crash on U.S. Hwy. 62 in Garfield Sunday resulted in the death of a Missouri man and injured his passenger, according to Arkansas State Police, and a Garfield woman was killed in a crash in Bentonville Saturday.

Dwayne Crouch, 55, of Mount Vernon, Mo., was driving a 2001 Yamaha motorcycle about 12:40 p.m. on U.S. 62 west of Garfield when he braked abruptly and struck a concrete curb, according to a police report. The motorcycle tipped on its side and began sliding, throwing Crouch and his passenger onto the asphalt, according to the report. Road conditions were good and the weather was clear.

Crouch died of his injuries. His passenger, Lynn Ann Rector Ramer, 60, of Bella Vista was taken to a hospital.

On Saturday, Janet Everts, 57, of Garfield was driving a 2005 Nissan east in Bentonville when an oncoming 2003 Ford crossed the centerline on Southeast 14th Street and struck her head-on about about 10:20 p.m. Saturday, according to a police report. Everts' vehicle was then rear-ended by a 2013 Nissan. Everts was taken to Northwest Medical Center in Bentonville, where she died from her injuries. No one else was injured, according to the report.
