Centennial cinema program slated

Pea Ridge National Military Park will kick off the National Park Service Centennial anniversary by hosting "Centennial Cinema." The public is invited to view orientation films from various park sites on the third Saturday of every month in 2016.

Centennial Cinema is designed to introduce everyone to the wonderful diversity of parks and stories that are preserved by the National Park sites. The first "Centennial Cinema" will be shown at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 16, in the park visitor center for the first three films in the program which introduce Golden Spike National Historic Site, Morristown National Historical Park and Denali National Park and Preserve. The event will last approximately one hour. Seating is limited. Upcoming programs will be listed on the park website www.nps.gov/peri as well as the Facebook page.

Pea Ridge National Military Park preserves the site of and commemorates the March 1862 Civil War battle that helped Union forces maintain physical and political control of the state of Missouri.
