FFA students speak

I am in survey of ag for my eighth-grade year. The reason I joined this class at the beginning was because it counted as high school credit and I really needed that. It turned out that ag is a lot more fun than it sounded. We get a lot of opportunities to go to field trips and events. If you like that, than you should really consider ag as one of your electives! We also got to build bird houses and we were taught how to use a saw which is a great life skill that I will use for the rest of my life.

Kevin Vasquez

I am in Survey Of Ag with Mr. Mason and he sure is a hoot! I am in Ag because I needed some high school credit. I was thinking about having it in my future but I like basketball and was thinking about trying to be an Allstar, but I don't know.

Noah Peterson

I am in eighth grade survey of ag. It is a fun class we get to do a lot of different things. We go on a lot of fun field trips. We learn about everything from farm animals to shop work. It is a really fun class.

Austin Miller

I joined FFA because I have always had an interest in animals. I am using FFA to extend my knowledge of animals. This is in preparation for the future. For maybe a future job, not necessarily in the FFA, but in the field of animals and biology.

My grandpa and grandma on my mom's side own a farm, and that may have also influenced me to join FFA.

Right now in FFA, we are doing a bluebird highway project, and previously, we were working on the FFA creed. So far, things have been fun, and I'm glad this is one of my classes.

Lucus Carreira

I'm in eighth-grade survey of ag. I joined ag because i like FFA and stuff. Ag is a really fun class we do a lot of different things right now we are building bird houses. We also go on awesome field trips. we went to Bass Pro for the whole day. We learn a lot about farm animals. Like cattle and pigs and stuff like that. Survey of ag is my favorite class in school.

Caden Whitted

I go to Pea Ridge Middle School and I am in eighth grade. The reason I joined is because it is a extra course for high school. It will help me in the future with being a responsible in general, keep up with my work, etc.

Hannah Bray

I am in Mr. Mason's only eighth-grade Survey of Agriculture class. I joined Survey of Agriculture because I would like to learn more about animals, and why people join FFA. Also I joined because I just like to build stuff like bird houses (which we are building Blue Bird right now.) At the beginning of the year I didn't know jack squat about Survey of Agriculture. I didn't even know what is was. Now since we are almost at the end of the year I have learned many things, (such as memorized the creed, Parliamentary Procedure, about goat and sheep, and how to build a birdhouse.) My mom, Micah Grantham of Pea Ridge, Ark., when she was in school she was also in FFA. Also my Papaw, Franklin Vaughn of Wayton, Ark., he was in FFA. To me FFA is a good class for young adults, (such as myself) to learn.

Sydney Grantham

I am in an eighth-grade ag class. I really like this class and It is my favorite class of the day. Right now we are building bird houses and it is awesome! I have done this kind of stuff before but being able to be with my other friends is awesome. There are very few things that I do not like in this class. Pretty much the only thing that I don't like is the AET (Agricultural experience tracker) assignments. This is a computer based program that we type summaries of AG related activities.

This program can be kinda boring but it is part of the class so I might as well just do it. Besides that this class is fun and exciting.

Jayson Frasier

I am a student at Pea Ridge middle school. I am in the eighth grade, I am in the class survey of agriculture. Here at Pea Ridge, the agriculture class is exceptional. We learn many things that will help us later on in life. We learn how to cut wood and learn how to construct things. We learn how to properly use tools and equipment and be safe while using them. We learn about farms and agricultural experiences and how it can benefit us in our lives and provide jobs later on.

Samuel Beard

I am in ag with Mr. Mason's eighth-grade class. I joined ag because it can teach you how to farm and how to cut wood and we get to do projects like the blue bird highway. What you do is make a birdhouse and put it on a highway. I was not forced to join ag, it was my choice to join ag.

Justin Pedersen

I'm in the Survey Of Agriculture Systems class. I joined this class to get plenty of opportunities to learn how to work for my family and to help me in my future life. This class is a very helpful class and I have learned a lot from it. It gives us all opportunities to go to events and learn about animal life. It gets us used to working for what we need and how to do stuff.

Tate Busey

I am in eighth grade AG, at Pea Ridge Middle School. I love AG, it is the only reason I go to school, other than athletics. I follow a legacy of farmers. I live on my Grandpa's farm. I help take care of that farm. I joined AG because I am continuing my family's legacy of farmers. The AET is a program we take online, it stands for the Agricultural Experience Tracker. If you can't tell this keeps track of your agricultural experience. AG is a great program, that everyone should at least try out.

Chandler Snow

I am in AG class. I like my class and I like learning about animals.

--Ashlee Rogers

I am a freshman. I am in ag because I love building things and I would have to go somewhere else if this school did not have ag.

Hunter Salkill

I am in this class because I was not able to get one of my other classes on my schedule due to a core course taking its place, but being in here is nice. I have had fun doing projects in here, currently, we are building birdhouses to do a "Bluebird Highway" and I've been enjoying working with my peers so far. There is definitely something to experience going into agriculture classes.

Sloan Sunderman

Hello, my name is and I am a ninth grade survey of agriculture student at Pea Ridge High School. When I first moved here from Arizona, I honestly never pictured myself in an agriculture class, but when I was selecting my classes for the year one class stood out to me: Agriculture Mechanics. The class really interested me, so I signed up for my current class to learn more about it. Over the course of the school year I've found that I really want to do mechanics because I like to construct things, such as our bluebird houses we are currently making. Overall, I like my agriculture class and can't wait to take mechanics next year.

Alyssandra Suddath

I am in Survey of Ag Systems, because I like learning about animals and I also like building things. When I heard that we make birdhouses, I was super excited, because I like building stuff with my dad and I think building things are fun.

Kimberly Ortiz

I joined survey of agriculture because I thought it would be fun. I was right; we have done so many things so far, and there are so many other things to do. I have made some new friends, and learned things I never knew. I started my own SAE (supervised agriculture experience). I am probably going to be in Ag animal science next year.

Jacy Schwyhart

I am a sophomore, and I am in ag because I want to build things, and I want to learn more about agriculture. My uncle owns a cattle company, and I want to learn some of what he does. Mr Mason has taught my family for years. He taught my uncles, cousins, father and my sister.

Hannah Howell

I'm going to tell you about my ag class, I love ag. I love the working in the shop we do and right now we're building bluebird houses, it's fun.

Layne Patton

I joined Ag because I wanted to know more about Agriculture and wood working. Ag is one of the most hands on classes offered at the school and I like hands on activities. We learn about all the different types of bovine (cows) and how to build birdhouses.

Trevor Helton

I'm in the ninth grade. I'm in the survey of ag class for Pea Ridge High School. The reason why I'm in ag is because my Nanna owns a beef farm in Anderson, Mo. My goal is to take over the farm when I become older. Without the AG class, plus the help of my grandpa, and the support from Mr. Mason and the other AG students, I wouldn't be able to do what I've dreamed of. AG will always be one of my favorite classes.

Emily Boyd

I am in ag because I enjoy working in the shop and I am going to take animal science next year. I like ag because I can learn things I wouldn't be able to in other classes.

Lindsey Fletcher

I am in ag because i want to be a mechanic. Ag is the only class where you can learn how to use tools and about animals you might need to take care of some day. This year in ag, I have learned a lot. I've learn about bovine and equines. I have had a horse and I learned more from Mr. Mason talking about them than I did owning them. I can't wait to take the other ag classes like ag mechanics and ag metals. I want to learn how to weld and work on engines. All of my cousins have been in ag. my cousins graduated in little rock and my father was in ag. The shop is my favorite part of the day. My group is kinda annoying but we are doing pretty well on our bird houses. I always wonder what we will do next.

Daneil Gilbert

I'm in AG I like to take AG because I get to work in the shop and learn about farming. This is my favorite class in school I would try to keep from school if I did not have AG.

Wesley Fisher

I joined the Survey of Ag Systems because I was curious to know what I would learn about. I'm glad that I joined Ag we learn about animals and how to properly feed and care for livestock as well. When I joined Ag, that meant that I would be a member of the Future Farmers of America also know as FFA. In FFA we took a creed and that meant that we took an oath to be a proud member and be a responsible citizen in our county and state. The teacher I have is Mr.Perry Mason. He's very generous, kind and respectful of himself and his students. He helps us learn about livestock and proper ways to keep a farm running smoothly. Recently we started a Bluebird Highway -- that means that we are building and constructing bird houses for the Eastern Bluebird and we are done we are going to place them on a highway and will hopefully attract the bluebird to the small town of Pea Ridge. These are the reasons I joined Ag. These are the reasons I became a proud member of the FFA team, to learn, strive and succeed in life to make this generation the best it can be.
