Science fiction books for sale

Congratulations to the Gravette Public Library on their move to a new home. It is always gratifying when a library is able to expand and grow to meet the needs of a community. Kim, you and your staff have done an outstanding job.

As many of you are aware, we have been planning the remodel of the "unfinished" room into a multi-purpose room since the library opened. The time has arrived and a notice was placed in The Times last week stating that bid specs were available for pickup at City Hall. Sealed bids are to be returned to City Hall by 5 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 10. Those bids will be opened at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 11, at a special library board meeting. We are hopeful that work can begin very soon after approval by the City Council. The library will remain open during this remodel.

Polls in Arkansas are open from 7:30 a.m. until 7:30 p.m. on Election Day, March 1. Your vote does count so get out and vote.

There are only eight days left to take an eagle watch tour at Hobbs State Park. Tickets must be purchased in advance. Cost is $10 plus tax for adults; for $5 for children 6-12. Tours depart Rocky Branch Marina promptly at 3 p.m. Feb. 13, 14, 15, 20, 21, 27, 28 and 29. For information and to make reservations, call 479-789-5000.

We are downsizing our Sci-Fi collection and have lots of those books on the sale table. Probably can find a book or two by your favorite author.

Be sure to look at our displays for Black History Month, President's Day and Valentine's Day. Thanks to our volunteers for these displays.

See you at the library.
