Collins White, 2, of Nashville, Ark., and his parents, Justin and Lindey White attended the Granny's Quilts of Love dinner and auction Saturday. Collins received a quilt from the Granny's group while a patient at Arkansas Children's Hospital. Granny's members Thelma Hall, Gayle Turner (of Rogers), Janita Prophet and Sharon Wood are just a few of the ladies who make the quilts. Turner recognized the quilt Collins had as one she made.

Michael Bollinger received a quilt from Granny's. Miss Pea Ridge Quinley Roses, Jr. Miss Pea Ridge Colby Creech and Teen Miss Pea Ridge Zaelea Harris volunteered at Saturday's dinner and auction.

Jerry Fitzner auctions off the many items donated for the Granny's Quilts of Love auction.

Sisters Judy Frost of Bentonville and Trish Fitzner of Pea Ridge record the bids and make the baskets to prepare for the auction. Their parents, Don and Alice Henson, were faithful members and supporters of Granny's.

Granny's Alice Crabtree and Donna Beaver take the money at the door for the dinner and then for the auction purchases. "It's a fun night," Crabtree said, "but it's so much more." She recalled story after story of children who had been comforted by receiving a quilt as well as stories of children who did not survive, but those families were blessed by the quilts.

Members of the Pea Ridge Free Will Baptist Church served throughout the evening. They include Lilly Fortner, Emma Fortner, Mallory Fortner, Kaytlin Walker, Kelayna Browning of Bentonville, Sarah Jackson of Pineville, Mo., Remy Deckard, Madison Fortner, Jessica Fortner, Levi and Noah Mahurin, both of Avoca, and Brandon Browning of Bella Vista.

Valla Mounce, 15-month-old daughter of Dawn and Bryan Mounce of Springdale, enjoyed the Granny's Quilts of Love dinner and auction. She is the great-niece of Donna Beaver of Pea Ridge.
