Aim for Advocacy

The first Aim for Advocacy Sporting Clay Event is set for 9 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 27. It will benefit the Restoration Village advocacy program which provides direct services, support and care to women and children. Registration will open at 9 a.m. at Gunsmoke Sporting Clays in Pea Ridge, and will end at 2 p.m. Event registration is $100 for adults and $50 for youth ages 12 - 18. Music at the Firehouse

GARFIELD -- Music at the Firehouse with The Black Oak Band will be 7-9 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, in the NEBCO Community Center, U.S. Highway 62 and South Wimpy Jones Road, Garfield.

There is plenty of free parking, room to dance, no cover or admission, donations only with 100 percent going to NEBCO Fire-EMS. For information, contact Andy at NEBCO Fire-EMS at 479-359-3134.

Artillery Program slated

Pea Ridge National Military Park will conduct Civil War artillery programs on Saturday, Aug. 27, 2016.

The artillery demonstrations are scheduled for 10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 1 p.m., 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. behind the park visitor center. Pea Ridge NMP will be conducting these programs throughout the summer and early fall. A schedule is on the website at www.nps.gov/peri.

Pea Ridge National Military Park preserves the site of and commemorates the March 1862 Civil War battle that helped Union forces maintain control of Missouri. The park is located six miles east of Pea Ridge on U.S. Highway 62.

Labor Day Breakfast served

GARFIELD -- The NEBCO Fire-EMS Labor Day Country Breakfast is 7-10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 5, 2016, in the NEBCO Community Center.
