Lady Blackhawk Volleyball

Coach Woods, a graduate of Pea Ridge High School, earned her bachelor's degree from Texas A&M and her master's degree from Arkansas State University. While at school, she played volleyball and softball.
She coaches because she "loves watching athletes develop skills on the court and off. You can see them working out their own problems and developing skills that they will use for a lifetime."
The best advice she ever received? "Never finish last."
Her advice to student athletes? "Control the controllables. Every day is a new day and you will either get better or worse."
Woods teaches English 8 and English 11.
She and her husband, Shawn, have two children, Silas, 3, and Emersyn, 3 months. She enjoys reading, hiking and playing with her children and fishing and hunting with her husband.

Coach Sanchez is currently coaching basketball and volleyball and teaches sixth-grade science. This begins his fourth year teaching in the school district. A grduate from Eureka Springs High School, he earned his bachelor's degree from Harding University in Searcy.
Sanchez played basketball and ran cross country and track when a student. He still tries to play a little basketball occasionally.
He said he coaches to he can have a positive influence on a generation and be a role model to younger athletes. "Many of my coaches were my role models growing up and I hope to be like them."
The best advice he ever received was: "Hard work beats talent, but talent never beats hard work."
His advice: "As long as you reach your potential, you can never hang your head."
He and his wife, Callie Sanchez, have a child, Aiden Paul, and another on the way.
