Clean up grew

The annual city cleanup was successful.

"It was very, very productive," Nathan See, Street Department superintendent, said. "We did a total of 26 trash dumpsters and nine metal dumpsters."

Three years ago, the city began sponsoring a fall cleanup, providing two cleanups a year.

There were 32 dumpsters filled during this spring cleanup compared to 15 last year.

The cleanup cost about $20,000. Any money received from the sale of the metal refuse is put back into the fund.

The fall cleanup will probably be the first weekend of September, See said.
