Two injured

Traffic was stalled along North Arkansas Highway 94 near White Oak Hollow Road Wednesday afternoon as a result of a two-vehicle head-on collision.

State police said Jon Biffany, 39, Pea Ridge, was southbound in a pickup truck owned by Jackson Abercrombie of Pea Ridge when he crossed the center line striking a north-bound truck driven by Crystal Slater, 35, of Seligman, Mo. Slater fled from the scene on foot. Ronald Hampshire, 60, of Rogers, was a passenger in the truck driven by Slater. The truck Slater was driving was owned by Stephanie Coleman, Bentonville. She was pulling a fifth-wheel trailer.

As a result of the collision, Slater's truck went off the roadway with the camper overturning and flipping the truck, according to state police.

Biffany was flown by helicopter to Washington Regional Medical Center. Hampshire was taken by ambulance to Mercy Medical Center, Rogers.

Biffany was charged with driving left of center, no insurance, no seatbelt, DWI.

Slater, who apparently hitched a ride into Missouri, has not been arrested, according to police.
