Tamale Pie

1 lb. ground beef, browned
1 c. onion, chopped
1 c. green pepper, chopped
1 c. cheese, grated
2 8-oz. cans tomato sauce
12 oz. can corn, drained
1 pkg. chili seasoning
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
3/4 c. yellow cornmeal
1/2 tsp. salt
2 c. water
1 Tbsp. margarine
Brown meat and drain. Add onion, green pepper, cheese, tomato sauce, corn, chili seasoning and garlic powder. Simmer for 15 minutes. In a small saucepan, combine cornmeal, salt and water. Bring to a boil. Mixture will thicken quickly. When thickened, turn off heat and stir in margarine. Pour meat mixture into baking dish. Pour and spread cornmeal mixture over meat mixture. Bake a 375 degrees for 40 minutes.
