New Arkansas books donated

I spent the first two days of last week home with some terrible bug and spent the next two playing catch-up. Seems like everyone has been sick with something lately. Thanks Patty and Warren for keeping everything running smoothly.

The transformation of an overstuffed storage room into a much needed useful space is nearing completion. I just can't believe the change. Probably another two weeks and our ugly duckling will be a beautiful swan.

I had a pleasant surprise when Jeff Thacker from Representative Steve Womack's office stopped by with a donation of several books from the Library of Congress. I had mentioned to him a couple of weeks ago that the library could use any Arkansas related books that the LOC might want to donate. Our collection of Arkansas materials is growing.

FYI -- the library computers do not have speakers. If you need speakers in order to complete an application for a job, etc. please bring your own headphones as we do not furnish those.

Anyone with a little time on their hands who would like to rake and weed the flower beds at the library, please feel free to come see me. Our garden tool supply is almost non-existent but with a little notice I can bring tools from home.

Thanks to Cinda and Darrell Wooldridge for repairing and re-installing our sign in front of the building. The sign lost a couple of rounds with the windstorms but I believe it can hold its own now.

The new books are in and are ready for check out. Reading a good book after doing yardwork is so relaxing.

Just a reminder that the library will be hiring a person to work each Monday and an occasional Saturday. Come by the library to pick up an application. PRCL is a great place to work.

Happy Birthday to my oldest son, Michael, who celebrates another milestone today.

See you at the library.
