Lady 'Hawks go 2/1 in tourney

Pea Ridge 12, Gentry 0

GENTRY -- It wasn't a pretty game for the Gentry girls when they hosted the Lady Blackhawks from Pea Ridge on March 29.

Though the Lady Pioneers held the Lady Blackhawks scoreless in the first two innings, the Pea Ridge girls scored two in the third, four in the fourth, two in the fifth and another four in the sixth to soundly defeat Gentry. Gentry had three hits in the game, compared to 16 for Pea Ridge. Gentry also racked up six errors, with none charged to Pea Ridge.

Hollyn Davis, Sara Whatley, Quinley Roses and Stephanie Chase combined for 12 hits and eight runs batted in to give Pea Ridge its huge victory.

Allie VanHouden pitched for the Lady Blackhawks and struck out six. She walked none. Alyssa Kelton pitched for Gentry. She struck out four and walked six.

On Thursday, March 31, the Lady 'Hawks defeated the Lady Wolves from Lincoln in Pea Ridge 8-6.

Lady Blackhawk softball went 2-1 this weekend at a tournament in Harrison, according to coach Josh Reynolds.
