38th Ozark Quilt Fair

Entries are being accepted for the 38th Ozark Quilt Fair which will be 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, at the Shiloh Museum of Ozark History. Quilters and quilt lovers are invited to display new and antique quilts for show and sale on the museum grounds. The entry fee is $10 per exhibitor. Cash prize Viewer's Choice awards will be given for first ($50), second ($35), and third ($15) place winners in both new and antique quilt categories.

The entry deadline is Sept. 9.

Other activities during the fair include musical entertainment by Working Class Grass and a special exhibit of miniature quilts by the Itty Bitty Quilt Committee, a group of local quilters.

War Eagle Mill History

Former War Eagle Mill owner Zoe Medlin Caywood will present, "With My Nose to the Grindstone: The Rebirth of War Eagle Mill," at noon Wednesday, Sept. 16, at the Shiloh Museum of Ozark History.

In 1973, Caywood and her parents, Jewell and Leta Medlin, rebuilt the mill, the fourth War Eagle Mill to be constructed on the site along the banks of War Eagle River in Benton County. Zoe Caywood owned and operated the mill for over thirty years, until selling the mill in 2004 to Marty and Elise Roenigk of Eureka Springs.

Sacred Harp Singers

The Northwest Arkansas Sacred Harp Singers will meet at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 13, in the Shiloh Museum of Ozark History.

Herb Society

The Herb Society of Northwest Arkansas will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 10, in the Shiloh Museum of Ozark History.

The Ozark Wireless Society will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, in the Shiloh Museum of Ozark History.

Civil War Roundtable

The Northwest Arkansas Civil War Roundtable will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 24, in the Shiloh Museum of Ozark History.
