A Pea Ridge man was killed when the all-terrain vehicle on which he was riding struck a tree and he was ejected.
Cody Dewayne Johnson, 27, Pea Ridge, was pronounced dead at the scene on Lucas Lane, according to Benton County Sheriff's deputies.
"Johnson was traveling east on Lucas Lane towards Hayden Road on his 2004 Yamaha YFM350 ATV. He was not wearing Proper Protective Equipment (PPE)," according to the deputy's report. He "collided head on into a tree on the side of the road... was propelled off the ATV impacting the tree head on."
Blood test results are pending.
The accident, which occurred about 12:23 a.m. Saturday on Lucas Lane was investigated by Benton County Sheriff's deputies and reported to the Arkansas State Police.
