Thanksgiving is time to be thankful

With Thanksgiving a week away, many of us are busy planning menus and getting ready for the day. I hope you will be as fortunate as I am to be spending it with family. My family members will be driving in from St. Louis and Houston to spend a few days. It's been too long since I have seen them. In addition to celebrating Thanksgiving, we will also be celebrating two birthdays.

As I am busy with my holiday plans I can't help but think of all the families across the globe whose plans and lives were forever changed in the blink of an eye in Paris. As we celebrate, let us not forget those who lost their lives or were injured in those senseless acts of terrorism and be thankful for what we have.

I am happy to report that we have a new addition to our library staff. Warren Foxworthy has joined us as a library aide. Many of you know him as Pastor Foxworthy of the Pea Ridge Church of the Nazarene. He and his wife Cheryl moved here from the Hot Springs area a few months ago. Be sure to introduce yourself and welcome him to our library family.

Next time you are in the library, please take note of the beautiful wall hanging on the south wall directly across from the front door. This was made and donated to us by Mrs. Minta Messer. The design is of The Pea Ridge Lily and is an exquisite piece of needlework. We are honored and grateful for her donation.

Starting this Thursday, Nov. 19, the Library Board will be moving their meeting date and time to 1:30 p.m. on the third Thursday of the month. Anyone who is interested may join us at those meetings at the library.

Thank you for your continued support. See you at the library!
