Wine, beer permits OKd

Two conditional use permits for selling wine and beer were approved unanimously by Pea Ridge Planning Commission members Tuesday, Nov. 9, in the regular meeting. There were no objections voiced during the public hearing.

Both Big Sugar Golf Course and Diego's restaurant will be allowed to sell wine and beer

Steve Stobaugh, co-owner of Big Sugar, told planners the restaurant is open seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and seats 30 people. He said an additional 35 can be seated on the deck and customers will be allowed to take the drinks onto the course.

"This is something our members and guests have requested," Stobaugh said.

Luis Avelar and Diego Avelar are opening Diego's, a Mexican restaurant, at 150 S. Curtis Ave. Luis Avelar told planners that he currently owns four liquor licenses for his other restaurants including Mojitos and Las Fajitas. He said his restaurant will be open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekdays and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on weekends.

Both Stobaugh and Avelar said they had completed the Arkansas Alcohol Beverage Control training.
