Veterans memorabilia on display

I was one of the fortunate ones to be able to watch the Pea Ridge Veterans Day Parade on Saturday. Standing along the route and seeing veterans from World War II to our present conflicts was so emotional. We owe the brave men and women who fought and died for our freedoms so much. Thank you to all who participated in the parade to help us remember what this day is really about. November 11 was designated a National Holiday by President Woodrow Wilson in 1919 to commemorate the end of World War I. It was originally known as Armistice Day but became Veterans Day in 1954.

Mrs. Wanda Roe came by the library last Wednesday afternoon to drop off some military related items that had belonged to her husband and son. These are currently on display so stop in and view our display.

Thanks to two of our volunteers for the Veterans Day display as well as the Thanksgiving display. I am very fortunate to have some really hardworking volunteers and I truly appreciate all their hard work.

Our patrons are certainly keeping us busy and that is a very good thing. The computers are getting a lot of use. DVDs remain very popular and we happily accept donations of children's and adult DVDs.

Cooler weather means it's a good time to curl up with a good book and a cup of coffee or tea. Check out a book or pick up something from the free books section or buy something from our large selection of used books. We have Christian fiction, mystery, sci-fi, general fiction, and romance for sale at very reasonable prices.

See you at the library!
