A Garfield man, Brad Fortner, has been honored nationally for his success professionally.

The National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies (NAMIC) presented Fortner its Professional Farm Mutual Manager of the Year Award. Fortner, chief operating officer of Farmers Protective Mutual Insurance Company, Rogers & Stuttgart, Ark., was honored for his many years of service to the property/casualty insurance industry.

He was presented the award at the Farm Mutual Conference Annual Business Meeting at NAMIC's 120th Annual Convention held in San Diego, Calif. Fortner's knowledge of the insurance industry has allowed him to expand the facilities, add additional technical staff, update technology in-house and at the agent level, and complete a successful merger with another company in southern Arkansas.

Fortner and his wife Tammy live on a farm in Garfield with their five children.

The award was created by the NAMIC Farm Mutual Conference board of directors to recognize the achievements of a farm mutual manager who dedicates himself to excellence in mutual insurance company management.

The recipient is selected based on excellence in marketing, administration, and financial ability as well as his involvement in national and state associations in his local community.
