LITTLE ROCK -- Governor Asa Hutchinson, AEDC Director Mike Preston, and DRS Director Alex Johnston presented $191,217 to 17 rural communities selected for Fiscal Year 2016 Cycle I funding through the Arkansas Rural Community Grant Program. The grant awards were distributed at an Oct. 12 awards ceremony held in the Governor's Reception Room at the Arkansas State Capitol.

In attendance were representatives receiving an Arkansas Rural Community Grant award on behalf of the NEBCO Fire Department in Benton County. NEBCO received $14,970 to replace their turnout gear.

The Division of Rural Services works in partnership with the Arkansas Rural Development Commission to administer the Arkansas Rural Community Grant Programs in three cycles each year.
