Junior Blackhawks lost a heart breaker 24-20 Thursday to the Huntsville Eagles.

Blackhawk ninth-grader Carson Rhine over 200 yards rushing and three touchdowns, said coach Cody Alexander.

"We came up about a foot short on two of our 2-point conversions and it goes to over time," Alexander said. "Our kids played great we had a new offensive package for this week and our kids did a great job with it the O-line and our full backs played great."

Alexander said the defense played hard all night and broke a couple big plays in the first half and then had a long drive to end the game.

"We caused a fumble that if we recovered, we would win the game with about 3 minutes left but it just didn't bounce our way," he said.

The junior Blackhawks are now 7-2 5-1 in conference and play Shiloh Thursday for a conference championship. If the Hawks win they would be co-champs with Shiloh and Huntsville. It's the third year in a row Pea Ridge is playing for a conference championship in junior high in week 10.
