Garfield mayor admits mistake

From Staff Reports

GARFIELD -- In order to hire a city attorney, Garfield city ordinance requires that a resolution be approved by a majority of the City Council members, according to Mayor Gary Blackburn, who said he failed to present the resolution at the May 12 council meeting. The council voted to hire the Slinkard Law Firm at the last regular Council meeting.

"I, Mayor Gary Blackburn, take full responsibility for the oversight and intend to present the resolution to the City Council at the next regular Council meeting. I apologize for my error," Blackburn said.
