Civil War Sign Dedication

The Shiloh Museum will host the dedication of a Civil War historical marker at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 23, at the corner of Johnson Avenue and Mill Street just east of the museum campus. The marker commemorates the hardships faced by people living in and around the Civil War-era settlement of Holcomb's Spring, which is present-day Springdale. Speakers at the dedication include Mayor Doug Sprouse, Arkansas Civil War Sesquicentennial Commission member Dr. Jamie Brandon, Shiloh Museum director Allyn Lord, Holcomb family representative Margaret Holcomb and Kyla Cross, who will perform a selection of Civil War-era ballads.
