Rezone OKd

A rezoning was approved as were two conditional use requests for home businesses at Tuesay's Pea Ridge Planning Commission meeting.

Planners rezoned 1900 Slack Street from agricultural to commercial. The request had initially been brought before planners in April as a conditional use for a recreational vehicle repair shop. The city attorney advised planners that a rezone was more appropriate.

Tim and Lori Gunter appeared before city planners April 7 and again May 5. No one from the public spoke at either public hearing.

"I've worked on RVs for 40 years. I was living in Bentonville remodeling one at a time, when this property became available," Tim Gunter told planners in April. "With the location, it's the perfect place for a repair shop."

In other business, planners:

• Approved a conditional use for 550 Eagle Crest for a business to operate from the residence;

• Approved the increase in the number of children kept at a home daycare at 2518 N. Harvey Wakefield; that request was granted for one year with planners revisiting the request annually.

The Planning Commisson adjourned at 7:11 p.m.
