New books ordered

I hope some of you were able to take advantage of the beautiful spring weekend to get out to some of the many garage/yard sales in the area. Or maybe you took in a few of the craft fairs. It was a great weekend to do some yard work. The 36-mile Razorback Regional Greenway Trail opened on Saturday. Sure would like to walk a part of it. It's just one more reason northwest Arkansas is the place to live and raise a family.

We were very pleased to hear that the Pea Ridge School District will run the bus routes with a Community Book Bus this summer. This is a much needed service. Kudos to the school district.

We are looking forward to a visit from a group of sixth-graders later this month. The last time the sixth-graders visited the library, they really kept us hopping to answer their questions and help them locate books.

Some new releases should be arriving this week. For the youth, we will have some new Ivy & Bean books; for the teens we have "The Evertree" (Spirit Animals Series No. 7) by Marie Lu; as well as book No. 9 in the Maximum Ride Series, "Maximum Ride Forever." "Memory Man" by David Baldacci and "Hot Pursuit" by Stuart Woods ( No. 33 in the Stone Barrington Series) should both be very good reads.

We have pre-ordered several upcoming releases including Harper Lee's "Go Set A Watchman" (available mid-July). Two new books by James Patterson are on our pre-order list -- "Truth or Die" (available late June) and "The Murder House" (due late September). For all you fans of Ann B. Ross mysteries, the 16th in her Miss Julia Series, "Miss Julia Lays Down The Law," should arrive this week. Please remember our library policy -- only one new release per patron.

Thank you everyone for your prayers and good wishes regarding my health issues. It means very much to me.

See you at the library!
