Book signing slated with Bible lady

Even though we have another week to go, we are busy bidding goodbye to March and taking out St. Patrick's Day decorations and replacing them with a Spring and Easter theme. We're looking forward to warmer temperatures but not the spring storms we are sure to have.

We are delighted to announce a book signing from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 11. The authors, Dawn Bohl and Lynette Schmitt, along with Marjorie Barnhart, will be at the library to sign copies of book "The Bible Ladies of Mountain, Missouri: The Ministry of Marjorie Barnhart and Virginia Boucher." Paperback copies of this book will be available for purchase for $10 on the day of the book signing. There was a very interesting article on Ms. Barnhart and Ms. Boucher in the Dece. 27, 2014, issue of The Time of Northeast Benton County. A copy of that article is on display at the library.

Library hours

1 - 8 p.m. Monday and Tuesday

10 a.m. - 6 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday

10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Saturday

Plans are being made for another book signing in early May with author Karen Akins who will be signing copies of her new book "Twist." This is a sequel to "Loop" for which a book signing was held at the library on Dec. 9.

Wednesday was a busy day at the library. Jeff Thacker from Congressman Steve Womack's office was at the library to visit with area residents. It is always a pleasure to host Mr. Thacker. Shortly after the end of his visit, we had someone from the University of Arkansas stop in to use the Quiet Room for a couple of hours.

Looks like our Saturday hours of 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. will be permanent. The turnout has been good and we are pleased to extend our hours. Thanks everyone for your support of the library.

See you at the library!
