Freedom Fest and Car Show scheduled

The ninth annual Freedom Fest is scheduled for 6 p.m. Sunday, June 28, on the grounds at First Assembly of God Church on Weston Street. The ninth annual Freedom Fest Car Show is set for 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. Saturday, June 27, at Pea Ridge City Park.

Freedom Fest includes a free dinner at 6 p.m. dinner, music and bounce houses.

"We encourage people to bring lawn chairs or blankets," Edwin Brewer, pastor of First Assembly of God and owner of USA Fireworks, said.

There will be handicap parking available on site.

Regitration for the car show is 9 a.m. to noon with judging from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Awards will be presented at 2 p.m.

There are separate classes for original and modified cars and trucks. Categories include:

Cars

• 1900-1931

• 1932-1949

• 1950-1959

• 1960-1969

• 1970-1979

• 1980-1999

• 2000-present

Trucks

• 1900-1949

• 1950-1972

• 1973-1989

• 1990-present

Rat rods, motorocycles, antique tracotrs, lowriders and best car club presentation are included.

There will be food provided by venros, a 50/50 pot, door prizes and a wipeout board. There are awards for the top three in each class, best of show and people's choice. Dash plaques are provided for the first 100 entries.
